Irregular Bookmarks
Past Simple
These paper toys are easy to make, but your students are likely to need them all year round.

Five ways to use them for revision purposes:

(1) UNEXPECTED NUMBER

Student A chooses a number from 1 to 9 (e.g. "eight"). Student B finds the eighth verb from the top and makes up a sentence / asks a question with it. Then they exchange roles.

(2) RANDOM DICTATION

Student A chooses random verbs from his bookmark and reads their V1 out loud. Student B listens and writes V2. After this Student A checks his / her answers and gives him a grade (try again, good, excellent).

(3) FUNNY MIMING

Student A chooses a verb and mimes it. Student B tries to guess the verb. Then they exchange roles. Alternatively, they can play sound / picture charades.

(4) VERBSEARCH

Student A chooses V2, Student B looks through the coursebook, trying to find a picture with this action. If he / she could find it, he she gets 1 point. If he / she could also make up a sentence with it, 1 more point.

(5) WHAT PAGE?

Student A opens the coursebook at a random page and describes what he / she can see using ONLY verbs from the bookmark. Student B looks through the book trying to find this page.
