Present Simple
(1) Each pair has got 2 sets of cards (verbs and adverbs). The cards are lying face down.

(2) Student A takes a card from each pile and gets a funny combination, e.g. "sometimes + drive a tractor".

He / she asks Student B:
  • Why do you sometimes drive a tractor?

(3) Student B needs to make an explanation:
  • I sometimes drive a tractor because I work on a farm!
You might also use these cards to practice using other tenses, e.g. Past Simple or Past Continuous.
